Hello Artemis and Sandrin, haven't seen ya in a while. Glad I got to do a kissing picture, and I may shade it later.
Anyhow, explanation behind the picture. *Points to long entry below*
Artemis paced back and forth in the cave. She had just finished another argument with the Elemental, who seemed just as tired as she was. Which was strange, since she was often up at night, since her eyes were sensitive to the light, so she had to wear a piece of see-through, black cloth during the day. It had to have been the fight with the monster that had tuckered her out. Looking back out of the cave, she saw it was still raining. The sight started to lull her to sleep, until a the only other person in the cave touched her shoulder, forcing her to turn, since it meant he wanted to talk to her.
“Artemis, What happens if we never found our way home?”
The Elemental stood up and looked outside the cave as well. It was strange to see him say it, and it had been one of the few things she hadn't tried to think about. She usually tried to stay on the positive side of things as often as she could, and she knew the elf in front of her did too.
“I guess, we'll just have to see what town we end up next and ask them where the closest oracle is.”
“But we're in the other world, the one where most humans don't believe in beings like us.”
Artemis had known that. Being the guardian of what her world called the invisible veil, she had felt the moment they had crossed. She hadn't known that he could tell as well. She looked to the side, back at the rain.
“We'll find a way to get home.”
She didn't want to see what he was going to say next, nor did she want anyone to see what she was about to do. Clenching her fists, she walked back to her bag of supplies, trying hard not to think of the red fuzzball that was her brother, and the young girl named Brenira that was her sister. She didn't want the tears to fall from her lightning blue eyes. Nor did she want Sandrin, the elf behind her to see them. She pulled out her sheet and layed it on the ground, then searched for her blanket. She could feel the salt water coming and stood up to go to the darker parts of the cave. That was when she felt it, the familiar touch on her shoulder. She turned around and looked at Sandrin.
“Sandrin, I really don't want to...”
That was when he shocked her. He had moved his head close to her so quickly, that she hadn't expected the kiss that he was now doing. What surprised her was that the kiss was gentle and caring, almost as if he really loved her.
